Learn South End Boat Shop’s History
John Diaz Sr. founded South End Boat Shop in the Pullman area of Chicago in 1945. In 1947, John moved the business to 115th and South Park Ave. In 1955, John moved the shop again to 114th and Halsted. Also, in 1955, John's son, Steve, started working at the shop as a mechanic. Steve worked for his father until 1974 when Steve succeeded his father as president and moved the shop to our present location in Frankfort.
